Make a day of it…Head to Al Fahidi
There are so many corners of this city that we love and the historic Al Fahidi neighbourhood on Dubai Creek is an all time favourite around here at Saffron Souk.
Previously known as Bastakiyya, this Dubai gem has recently been restored and rejuvenated. Alongside old favourites, there’s plenty of new kids on the block to discover. If history is your thing, pop in to the Coffee Museum or Coins Museum, grab a camel burger or browse the art collections at Majlis Gallery and XVA.
1-11. Snapshots around the sikkas of Al Fahidi…
After a ramble around Al Fahidi’s sikkas last week, we made a pit stop at Make Art Cafe, which has been on Saffron Souk’ must-do hit list since it’s opening late last year. This great little spot has works by UAE based artists and a top gift shop to boot. The central courtyard is the perfect spot to kick back and have a long lazy lunch or a caffeine fix.
1-9. Make Art Cafe is a new addition to the Al Fahidi neighbourhood. We can vouch for the great iced coffees, chocolate milkshakes and truffle fries!
And if all that’s not enough, mark your diaries as SIKKA2016 hits the streets of Al Fahidi for 10 glorious days from 13 March. Catch some of the highlights from the 2015 event here. Whatever you do, don’t wait for visitors to come to town to make a trip, get down to Al Fahidi this weekend.
