Have you ever dreamed of being a mermaid, even for a day? Well, here’s the lady who can make your dreams come true! Meet Jasmina, the talent behind Dubai-based, Coral Tails.
Although just a year old, Coral Tails has grown from strength to strength and as well as mono-fins, their range includes a collection of coordinating swimwear for girls. It’s well made, beautifully sparkly and comes in a choice of colours. Quite frankly, the only down point we Saffron Souk ladies can see is that they don’t come in adult sizes…hint, hint Jasmina!
So, let’s indulge that mermaid fantasy of yours and read on as Saffron Souk takes a dip with Jasmina…
What sort of products do you market?
We sell swimmable Mermaid tails and tops, as well as Tiny tails for toddlers and non-swimmers, with options to customize your outfit if required.
When and why did you decide to start your own business?
It took me a while, but a year ago I came to the conclusion that it’s very difficult to have a corporate career, be a mum and wife, and try to pursue some of my hobbies and interests (and believe me I have plenty).
At the same time my daughter got very excited about Ariel and asked me to make a tail for her, and so I did. It certainly wasn’t made for swimming but she was over the Moon. Her excitement took me straight back to 1984, to Darryl Hannah and Mermaid Madison in the movie ‘Splash’ and my childhood desire to become a mermaid. And the rest is history, everyone wanted one at our pool, so I decided to dive into the world of shiny, colorful fabrics and mono-fins.
