Saffron Souk Pops at Dubai Festival City…

Aug 10, 2015 | Inspire

Saffron Souk‘ extended family has been ‘popping’ for over a week now as part of Dubai Summer Surprises at Dubai Festival City. And to celebrate the mid point of our involvement in this event we thought we would share with you a little taster of the market action, with a touch of silliness to boot.

You’ll see it;s been a bit crazy, so we apologise for the slightly dodgy snaps and the fuzzy videos – but the good bit is that all you need to do is jump in your car and get down to the market to see what’s going on with your own eyes…

1. – 5. Anna & Annabelle dusted off the saffronsouk.com caravan and took it out for a long overdue spin to Festival City for the Pop Up event and it has been a show stopper…

There has been a fantastic line up of Saffron Souk shop fronts showcasing their products on rotation during this exciting 17 day event, with a few joining the market for almost the full period. It’s been fab getting to know the products and the people behind Harmony House Toys, Sweet Baby Street and Brighteyez. We are going to miss you all when the 15th rolls around… thank goodness we can still shop your goodies online!

  6. – 8. Just a teeny tiny selection of the delightful wooden toys available from Harmony House Toys Video. Gabi, owner of Harmony House Toys,  being a super star and telling us about her brand, plus some top tips for other small start up businesses…

The natural non-toxic wooden toys from online store Harmony House Toys are fast becoming a huge hit at the Saffron Souk Pop Up event at Dubai Festival City Mall. There isn’t a child that doesn’t walk past without becoming captivated by these old school toys, so a big thanks to Gabi, the lady behind this brand for delivering the goods literally!

1. The mermaid tails and fins from Coral Tails are a hot seller!

Sweet Baby Street have some gorgeous kids kaftans, as well as a collection of retro rompers and contemporary kit (9. – 11.) for the cool kids Video. The lovely Sophie giving us the low down on this local brand with an international flavour.

We are loving having Sophie join us at the Saffron Souk Pop Up. Sophie represents Dubai children’s brand Sweet Baby Street. And we have to admit we have made a few sneaky purchases on our daily trips to the market – the quality is really fabulous, and the textile designs fun and quirky – just how we like it!

Speaking of fun and quirky, nothing beats new kid on the block, Brighteyez. If you want your kids to stand out from the crowd, this is where you need to be shopping!

12. – 14. We just can’t stop browsing the Brighteyez collection… everything makes us smile from ear to ear!

No two days are the same at this Pop-Up! We have been spoilt for choice with a rotating schedule of daily vendors adding to the mix. Here is a sprinkle of some of those small businesses we have been lucky enough to attend to date…

Video. Have you checked out the Kiddies & Colors online store at saffronsouk.com? You can tell that Angela, the creative behind this kids wear and accessories range, loves what she does! And we can’t get over the reasonable prices! Considering the materials and time and effort that goes in to her products, we are able to get our hands on some rather wonderful bargains.

Video. Meet Candice the talent behind online store CB Designs. If you are on the hunt for a personalised onesie baby grow – this is your lady!

Video. Saffron Souk were lucky enough to finally meet Nitya – the talent behind Dubai based homeware and accessories brand Nittywitty.

Not only can you shop Nitya’s creative collection online at www.nittywitty.saffronsouk.com but she can help you out if you have a personal or professional requirement for customised graphics made up into cushions, notecards, laptop covers, coasters, phone covers and even shower curtains! We have a feeling Nitya can help you out with all your creative requirements…… and we apologise for the dodgy filming – but Nitya is just too cute to share all of her anyway!

And then there are the people… it has been a joy spending time with the creative bunch that make up the Saffron Souk community – and we are only half way through the event with more fab people to meet. We look forward to spotting you all in the numerous blogs, media releases and TV reports. You are all superstars!

Video. Too much silliness.  We have been having lots of fun at the Saffron Souk Kids Summer Pop Up market at Dubai Festival City… and when it hits closing time things get a little silly! Thanks to Sophie for her entertaining promotional videos.
